Nachos and Juicing Before Trip
March 19, 2008 — cheriejI knew I would have to use up all of the items in my refrigerator and also wouldn’t be juicing for a few days, so I made some awesome combos today:
Orange-kale-carrot
Pear-kale
Apple-collard-carrot-ginger
How’s that for getting your calcium!? Just drink it from nature’s best sources.
I was in the mood for a few high-fat items today, but I do plan on enjoying many fruits on vacation.
Shown here: Nachos with flax crackers (two varieties, both sprouted, live, and raw), taco-seasoned walnut crumbles, avocado-tomato dip, and a spicy cashew-sunflower seed cheese (with the walnut crumbles, avocado dip, and cheese showcased in center). That will hold me over. And it’s beautiful! ***
Although I like food like this here and there now that I’m high-raw, I much prefer, during the week and most weekends as well, simple foods, mono meals, which would be eating one type of food (sometimes in high quantity) at one time. This seems to be easier on the stomach for digestion and more amenable to that superior energy flow I enjoy. ![]()

Awesome! I recently started drinking 2 quarts of green smoothies a day (two days ago). I got a job at a natural foods cafe and the owner really wants to start uncooking and serving raw foods! I’m so excited about that since I’ve been learning more about it and have committed to a 30 day raw trial this summer.. anyway, I’ve always loved green smoothies and when we sat down she told me she read that if you drink 32 oz a day along with whatever else you do that you will feel better drop weight… well, being the type of person I am, I’ve decided to do 64 oz a day. For breakfast and as an afternoon snack.
One thing I’ve noticed after only two days is that I am in less pain (I have lupus and have a lot of joint pain and swelling).. I’m super excited about doing more raw! You’re an inspiration with all your lovely foods.
Have a great time on vacation.
