Day in D.C. and Poplar Springs

Notice how, in the second picture, the humans are disappearing, in a sense?  Symbolic of the nature in which humans are destroying their own existence on this planet…

Kate, Bryan, Deb, and Gary (yeah, me, too, but be quiet for a minute) all volunteered their time today to help at Poplar Springs Sanctuary.  The sanctuary, which also advocates strongly for animal rights and the removal of the use of non-human animals as commodities in our society, houses many goats, sheep, chickens, cows, turkeys, rabbits, horses, and pigs.

Great way to spend the day. I’m sure you were exhausted by the time you left. Wish we could have been there too, maybe when the kids are a bit older.

these are good photos and not too bright. i like the goat best. it looks like he’s getting ready to kick some ass. then you’d have a live action movie ‘Goatzilla’ so it sounds like you had fun and ate well too! did you give the animals my message?

Sounds like a wonderful animal sanctuary with some adorable animals.

I love the second picture and your comments about it. It’s very poetic and beautiful.

Hey, this is my first time seeing Gary! :-)

What adorable animals. I’m so happy you are getting to have these experiences, and have vegan friends close by etc.
